According to ChainCatcher, the Ethereum Foundation announced its Q1 2026 grants and ecosystem support projects on April 29, prioritizing cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), protocol security, and core infrastructure development. The funding supports client optimization (Geth, Erigon, Lighthouse), validator security tools, advanced cryptographic research including Poseidon hashing and quantum-resistant encryption, and developer ecosystem initiatives such as BuidlGuidl education upgrades, ERC standards, and WalletConnect. The grants also cover Layer 2 transparency analysis via L2BEAT, privacy technologies, decentralized identity standards, and DAO governance research, reflecting the Foundation’s continued investment in cryptography, ZK, and protocol engineering.
