The company sent me to Africa for mining for three months. When I returned, I found my workstation gone, and even my OA account was deactivated👇.

At the beginning of the year, the company mentioned a "gold-plating project" and sent me to Nigeria to oversee the mine.
Everyone else refused, but I foolishly raised my hand: I'll go!
Three months without signal, eating cassava with Uncle Black every day.
Finally, when the contract ended, the first thing I did after returning to China was to clock in at the company.
Downstairs, I found the door locked, with a "For Rent" sign on the glass.
I was stunned for a moment and called the director:
“Hey, has the company been sealed?”
The director lowered his voice: “Moved... forgot to notify you.”
Me: “Then how do I get paid for these three months?”
Director: “We’ll talk about it when you return.”
At the new location, face recognition access—failed.
The receptionist girl looked me up and down: “Who are you looking for?”
“I, Tech Department 008, just back from a business trip.”
She typed on the keyboard for a while: “There’s no such person in the system... Are you sure you haven’t resigned?”
I turned to stare at the director.
He was holding a coffee, silently turning to look out the window.
I sarcastically said, “Oh, boss, the view outside is pretty nice, huh?”
He took a sip of water, too afraid to look back.
I added, “My skin’s tanned from Africa—does it match the company’s new logo?”
He took another sip of water.
Later, HR quietly told me:
Three months ago, due to departmental restructuring, I was on the list. The director said “wait until he’s back,” and then forgot about it.
The ultimate tragedy for an employee isn’t being laid off,
It’s being laid off and not even being notified.
