I just found out that Robe Iniesta, the singer of Extremoduro, has passed away, and honestly, it left me thinking. The guy died on December 10, 2024, at the age of 63, after some health issues that forced him to cancel concerts. He had recently suffered a pulmonary thromboembolism that left him in pretty bad shape.

It's not just that another musician has died. Robe Iniesta was literally a legend of Spanish rock. Extremoduro marked entire generations with songs like "La vereda de la puerta de atrás" and "Si te vas." The guy was not just a singer; he was a philosopher, an environmental activist, involved in social politics. His family even said he was the last great humanist of the Spanish language in music.

What impacts me most about Robe Iniesta's death is that he left an enormous legacy. He received the Gold Medal for Fine Arts, released four solo albums after Extremoduro disbanded in 2019, and his last work released in 2023 was well received. The official statement closed with his iconic phrase: "the straight path for the most crooked." Fly high, man-bird.
