I just checked the calendar, and it turns out that the 2026 Carnival holidays in Argentina are on February 16 and 17. Basically, we have four consecutive days off if we add the weekend, so many people are already planning something for those dates.
The interesting thing is that these 2026 Carnival holidays are fixed, meaning if you have to work on those days, you’re entitled to double pay. The law guarantees it, so at least there’s that.
For those who didn’t know, Gualeguaychú in Entre Ríos is the epicenter of the celebrations here. The parades and floats are impressive. In Buenos Aires, there’s also a lot of activity in neighborhoods like Boedo and San Telmo, so there are options everywhere.
Carnival comes from the Catholic calendar, related to Cuaresma and Pascua. That’s why it changes dates every year. But well, for 2026, we already know when it falls.
If you want to plan something, these 2026 Carnival holidays are the perfect opportunity for a trip or just to enjoy the local festivities. Does anyone already have plans?
