I recently realized that I was using heart emojis completely wrong on WhatsApp. It turns out that each color has its own meaning, and it's not just about sending a red heart when you like something.
For example, red is for intense love, I already knew that. But orange is for friends without romantic feelings, yellow for pure friendship, and blue for loyalty. Green is related to nature or mild jealousy, so be careful with that one. Violet represents more complex feelings, and black is for sad moments or dark humor.
What surprised me was learning the meanings of less common hearts. The flaming heart stands for intense passion, the beating heart represents accelerated emotion, and the arrowed heart is for love at first sight. The bandaged heart is used to comfort someone who is feeling heartache.
Now I understand why some guys would send me orange hearts when they just wanted to be friends. The meanings of hearts on WhatsApp are a whole language I didn't know existed. Were you also using emojis incorrectly, or is it just me?
