X Platform Launches Smart Cashtags Feature, Providing Real-Time Prices for Stocks and Crypto

Gate News message, April 15 — X (formerly Twitter) launched its Smart Cashtags feature on April 14, initially available to iPhone users in the U.S. and Canada. The tool allows users to tag specific stocks or crypto assets when posting or searching, displaying real-time prices and charts.

The feature addresses confusion caused by identical or similar tickers representing multiple assets, aiming to improve discussion accuracy. Users can select the exact asset from a dropdown menu when typing a ticker symbol or asset name.

Nikita Bier, X’s Head of Product, stated that X has long been the top financial news source for traders and investors, with billions of dollars allocated daily based on Timeline content. He described Cashtags as the first step toward becoming the premier platform for finance and crypto communities.
