US Dollar Hits Record 51.1% Share of Global Trade, Up from 49.2% in February

Gate News message, April 23 — According to SWIFT data, the US dollar’s share of international transactions reached a record high of 51.1% in March, up from 49.2% in February and marking the highest level since 2023.

The euro accounted for approximately 21% of transactions, followed by sterling and yen. The dollar’s surge coincided with ongoing conflict in the Middle East region.
