PLA East China Sea Command Organizes Naval Task Force for Western Pacific Exercise

Gate News message, April 19 — The PLA East China Sea Command organized the 133rd naval task force to transit the Bashi Channel today and conduct military exercises in the Western Pacific, according to spokesperson Major General Xu Chenghua. The exercise aims to test the command’s long-range maritime combat capabilities.

The training is part of the annual exercise schedule, complies with international law and practice, and is not directed at any specific country or target, Xu stated.
