Meta’s new AI model Muse Spark makes its debut! It’s expected to be rolled out to FB and IG within a few weeks, and the Meta AI app is set to enter the top five

Meta rolls out a brand-new AI model, Muse Spark, which is set to launch on platforms like FB and IG. The new feature has driven a surge in Meta AI App downloads, moving it into the top five in the United States, with total global installations exceeding 60.5 million times.

Meta’s new AI model Muse Spark—what can it do?

Meta recently announced the launch of a new AI model, Muse Spark. This is the first model released after Meta hired Alexandr Wang, the head of Meta’s superintelligent lab, from Scale AI last year and reorganized its AI business.

Muse Spark is already live on Meta’s Meta AI app and website in the United States. It is expected that within the next few weeks it will be introduced to platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta smart glasses, officially replacing the existing Llama model.

Muse Spark has the following features and advantages:

Native multimodal, can generate mini-games

According to Meta’s official introduction, Muse Spark supports cross-domain integration of text, images, audio, and video.

The model has the ability to use a visual reasoning chain and tools, helping users build small games, or eliminate appliance fault issues by labeling and marking images.

Focused on the health domain, can generate interactive charts

Meta has partnered with more than 1,000 doctors to plan and curate training data, thereby improving Muse Spark’s health reasoning capabilities, so it can generate interactive charts that explain to users, in detail, the nutritional components of food or the muscle groups activated during exercise.

Deep thinking mode and multi-agent collaboration

Muse Spark’s deep thinking mode can coordinate multiple intelligent agents to conduct reasoning simultaneously, clearly improving Muse Spark’s performance on challenging tasks. It achieved a 58% completion rate on the “last exam for humans” task and a 38% completion rate on the “frontier scientific research” task.

Independent evaluation organization Artificial Analysis gave it a score of 52 on the AI index; it is currently tied for 4th place with Claude Sonnet 4.6.

Muse Spark’s launch pushes the Meta AI App into the top five of the rankings

According to a report by Techcrunch, after Muse Spark was released, the installation volume of the Meta AI App showed clear growth.

Data from app intelligence provider Appfigures shows that before the model launched, the Meta AI App ranking was 57th; after the launch, it jumped to 5th place on the U.S. App Store—indicating a wave of many new installations.

Another market intelligence company, Sensor Tower, estimates that on April 8, 2026, Meta AI had about 46,000 iOS app downloads in the United States, with a daily increase of 87%. Meanwhile, on Android, U.S. download volumes increased by 3% in a single day.

Total Meta AI App installations exceed 8B times

To catch up with competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic, Meta, in addition to investing $14.3 billion in Scale AI, has also spent tens of billions of dollars recruiting AI talent. More recently, reports have surfaced that it acquired the OpenClaw ecosystem project “Lobster Community” Moltbook.

Appfigures’ data shows that currently, Meta AI App’s cumulative installations on the global App Store and Google Play have reached 60.5 million times, of which 25 million downloads occurred this year.

Within the last five months, the Meta AI App download volume increased by 138% compared with the first five months before launch. India is currently the largest market for Meta AI downloads; followed by the United States, Brazil, Pakistan, and Mexico in that order.

In addition to the Meta AI App, Sensor Tower data shows that in the United States, Meta AI’s daily web visitors increased by more than 450% day over day, hitting an all-time high on April 8, 2026. Compared with the average value over the most recent 30 days, the number of visitors increased by more than 570%.
