Golden Finance reported that the White House is attempting to accelerate the United States' scientific research capabilities through the application of artificial intelligence. President Trump signed an executive order on Monday to launch the “Genesis Mission” plan, which requires the Department of Energy and other research institutions to actively promote the deployment of artificial intelligence. Michael Kratsios, the head of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, referred to it as “the largest integration of federal research resources since the Apollo program.” He stated that the plan is expected to accelerate breakthroughs in fields such as medicine, energy production, and engineering. Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette emphasized that artificial intelligence will be used to analyze the vast datasets held by its 17 national laboratories, and he promised to “significantly enhance the speed of scientific discovery and innovation.” According to the executive order, institutions must make their datasets more compatible with AI tools like neural networks, and government-held research data and federal computing infrastructure will be opened up to university researchers, private enterprises, and national security personnel.
