I just found out that King Félix is still fighting for the Hall of Fame. Venezuelan pitcher Félix Hernández didn’t make the cut last year with 20.6%, but at least he surpassed the minimum 5% needed to keep trying in 2026. The truth is, he has a pretty interesting life outside Major League Baseball: since retiring in 2022, he has been fully involved with Baseball United, that league project in the Middle East organized by former players.
What surprises me is that Félix Hernández remains active in all this, attending events and participating as a co-owner of the franchise. The Seattle Mariners also showed their support on social media when news broke that he would run again. Additionally, he has already been recognized in his home country: he was inducted into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025 alongside Magglio Ordóñez and Alex Ramírez.
For 2026, the competition is tough with names like Alex Rodriguez and others trying again. But well, Félix Hernández has time; he just needs that 75% at some point. Does anyone think he will make it?
