As the primary coastal state of the Hormuz Strait, Iran asserted its legal authority to adopt necessary and proportionate measures in response to emerging security threats.
According to the statement, these measures aim to ensure safe navigation and prevent the Hormuz Strait from being used for hostile or military purposes. Iran accused the U.S. of illegal actions that endanger international maritime safety and emphasized that any disruption to transportation in the Persian Gulf and its consequences should be attributed to the United States.
