Amazon and Anthropic Expand Partnership: Anthropic Commits $100B+ to AWS Over Next Decade

Gate News message, April 20 — Amazon announced an expanded strategic partnership with Anthropic on April 20. Anthropic committed to investing over $100 billion in AWS technology over the next decade, purchasing Amazon’s current and next-generation Trainium chips and tens of millions of Graviton cores.

Amazon will invest $5 billion in Anthropic immediately, with potential additional investments of up to $20 billion contingent on achieving certain commercial milestones. This investment builds on Amazon’s previous $8 billion investment in Anthropic.

Anthropric will receive up to 5 gigawatts (GW) of capacity for training and running its advanced AI models.
