International Maritime Organization: Situation in Strait of Hormuz Has Resulted in 7 Seafarers Dead, Approximately 20,000 Seafarers Stranded at Sea
Gate News Report: On March 18, Domingo, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, stated at a special session of the 36th Session of the IMO Council that military strikes launched by Israel and the United States against Iran have resulted in multiple security incidents in the Strait of Hormuz, which have so far caused the deaths of 7 sailors and left approximately 20,000 sailors stranded at sea in the Persian Gulf. Domingo urged all parties present at the meeting to put forward constructive measures to address the current situation and help ensure maritime shipping security.
