At the end of the crazy bull market in 2017, I impulsively jumped into the crypto world after a friend's "recommendation." To be honest, the reason I chose Gate (then still called Bter) was very simple—at that time, many newly issued tokens were waiting on other platforms, but Gate already supported trading. For a newbie like me who liked "chasing hot topics," this was a must-have.

Back then, I didn't understand anything about candlesticks or TVB; I purely bought coins based on "names," staring at my phone for market updates at 3 a.m., with my heart pounding more than on a roller coaster.

The most memorable moment was the "519" in 2021. That day, the market plummeted, contracts were liquidated in succession, and the entire community was wailing. Although I was trading spot, watching my account assets shrink by 60% in an instant made my hands tremble. That night, Gate's servers surprisingly didn't lag, and I watched the price hit the bottom with my own eyes, my mind went blank, wanting to cut losses but unable to click.

Later, I forced myself to calm down, turned off the computer, and went to sleep. It was because of this "passive holding" that I avoided the subsequent chasing and panic selling. It was also from that moment that I started to seriously study grid trading (spot grid)—a tool Gate had already developed quite maturely at that time. I used to be a "chaser" who bought high and sold low, but after becoming a robot, I learned to "buy low and sell high" amid market fluctuations. This not only changed my trading habits but also allowed me to accumulate chips during this bear market through oscillations.

In these 13 years, Gate has changed a lot:
From a web interface to a smoother app, from a simple trading platform to an ecosystem covering finance, Web3, and NFTs. This year's "iWEB3" concept and those 13 time capsules really touched me as an old user—showing that the platform is leading us toward the future.

In these 13 years, I have also changed:
From that impulsive "greenhorn" who checked prices every minute, to a "zen" player who now reviews strategies once a week. The only thing that hasn't changed is my habit of opening Gate every morning first thing to check my earnings 😂.

A message to Gate:
13 years, and only a handful of exchanges have survived and thrived in the crypto space. Thank you for not running away, thank you for letting me learn knowledge and safeguard my assets in this ruthless market.
