The China-Laos Railway surpasses 70 million passenger trips.

On March 31, the reporter learned from the China Railway Kunming Group that since the China–Laos Railway began operations, as of now the railway has transported a total of over 70 million passengers nationwide. In the domestic segment, the average daily number of passenger trains operated increased from 8 at the start of service to as many as 86, with a cumulative total of over 57.1 million passengers transported; in the Laos segment, the average daily number of passenger trains operated rose from 4 at the start of service to as many as 18, with conventional-speed passenger trains expanded to more than 10 cars, and a cumulative total of over 12.9 million passengers transported. The single-month passenger volume for the entire line increased from 600k at the beginning of service to as many as 2.25 million, playing an important role in promoting regional economic development and people-to-people exchanges.
