Gate Non-Custodial Wallet Product Update: Launch of Limit Order Functionality

robot
Abstract generation in progress

Gate DEX’s non-custodial wallet has launched limit order functionality, covering two major modules: single-chain swaps and professional trading. Users can set a target price in advance; the system will automatically monitor market conditions and trigger an on-chain trade when the criteria are met. This feature is designed to help users achieve precise price execution and reduce the time cost of manually watching the market.

Core Features

  1. Automated Execution: Once a trigger price is set, the system continuously monitors the market. When the preset conditions are met, the system automatically broadcasts the transaction on-chain and completes the swap.

  2. Flexible Price Settings:

  • Supports switching between forward and reverse exchange rates.

  • Offers quick percentage change options of ±1%, ±5%, and ±10%, and also supports custom input.

  • Shows the price difference and estimated market value in real time to help evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the trade.

  1. Multiple Validity Periods: Provides six configurations: 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days, and 7 days, with the default set to 7 days. Orders that expire without being triggered will automatically become invalid.

  2. Security Mechanism: Uses an off-chain intent-signing architecture. Assets remain under the user’s sole control at all times. Only after being triggered will an on-chain broadcast be made according to the signed intent, aligning with the security principles of a non-custodial wallet.

How to Use

Single-Chain Swaps

Go to the swap page in your Gate DEX wallet. The steps are the same for both the APP and Web:

  1. Switch the trade mode from “Market” to “Limit”.

  2. Choose the payment and receiving assets (currently supports ETH and SOL main chains).

  3. Set the trigger price: you can manually enter it, select a percentage quick key, or set a custom percentage for increases/decreases.

  4. Configure the order validity period.

  5. Confirm the payment amount and price information, click submit, and complete the wallet password signature.

Notes:

  1. If you have not yet enabled a smart account, the button will display “Unlock Smart Account”; you must first go to the App to complete the setup.

  1. The maximum number of currently active limit orders is 5. If you exceed this limit, you must cancel some orders before you can place new ones. 3. If the set price deviates from the current market price by ≥ 10%, the system will pop up a risk warning. Please confirm before submitting.

Professional Trading

  1. Enter the professional trading page in your DEX wallet.

  2. On the trading panel, select “Limit Order”.

  3. Enter the buy or sell price and set the validity period.

  4. Confirm the order information and complete the signature.

Limitations

  1. Account Requirement: You must enable a smart account before use.

  2. Order Limit: The maximum number of currently active limit orders is 5. Once you reach the limit, you must cancel some orders before you can continue.

  3. Deviation Warning: If the set price deviates from the market price by more than 10%, the system will show a risk alert.

Risk Warning

  1. Market Price Risk: Limit orders are triggered only when the price reaches the set conditions. When the market fluctuates sharply, the price may jump over the trigger price without completing the trade, or the executed price may differ from expectations. Please fully assess market risks before placing an order.

  2. Slippage Risk: When on-chain execution occurs, the actual execution price may differ from the trigger price due to insufficient market liquidity, network congestion, or other reasons. It is recommended to set a reasonable slippage tolerance.

  3. Network Fee Risk: Network fees are charged for limit orders only when the order is triggered and an on-chain transaction is executed. Please ensure your wallet has sufficient native tokens (e.g., ETH, SOL) to pay Gas fees. If the balance is insufficient, the order execution will fail.

  4. Validity Period Risk: If an order is not triggered within its validity period, it will automatically expire and become invalid. Please set the validity period reasonably based on market conditions to avoid missing trading opportunities.

  5. Risk of Cryptocurrency Investments: Cryptocurrency markets experience significant price volatility, and investments carry a high level of risk, which may result in loss of principal. Please make prudent decisions based on your own risk tolerance after fully understanding the related risks, and never invest funds beyond what you can afford.

  6. This feature does not constitute any investment advice. The Gate platform reserves the right to modify the functionality in accordance with regulatory requirements or business adjustments.
