【Financial News Focus】 The major conference on space computing is about to be held, and the "Beijing Space Computing Innovation Center" will be launched. The organization states that this sector is accelerating from technological validation to large-scale deployment.
People Finance News, April 2: A major conference in the space computing power sector is about to be held. On April 3, the 2026 Space Computing Power Industry Conference will be held in Beijing, jointly hosted by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Management Committee of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. According to the agenda, leaders from relevant departments, including the Information and Communication Development Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Commercial Aerospace Division of the Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Management Committee of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, and others, will deliver opening remarks. Notably, the conference will release a batch of major achievements: based on the computing power industry development matrix, the first industry “Space Computing Power Professional Committee” will be established; the “Beijing Space Computing Power Innovation Center” will be launched; and the development area management committee will release a “List of Key Common Technologies for Space Computing Power” for breakthroughs. In addition to Beijing, Shenzhen has also recently held a symposium on the space intelligence computing network, exploring a new vision for air-and-space computing power. Specifically, the Pengcheng Laboratory, together with Shenzhen’s Department of Science and Technology Innovation, is hosting the “Space Intelligence Computing Network Symposium.” The meeting reached consensus: first, seize the development window period; relying on Shenzhen’s well-established electronic information industry chain and its unique geographic advantages, precisely plan the key links of the innovation chain and the industrial chain for the space intelligence computing network. Second, focus on tackling core technical challenges; concentrate efforts to overcome difficulties such as on-orbit computing power chips, satellite communication networking, and energy and thermal management, breaking through technical bottlenecks for large-scale development. Third, build a coordinated ecosystem; form an industry-university-research-application alliance for the space intelligence computing network. A research report from Northeast Securities shows that the space computing power track is moving from technological validation toward large-scale deployment and value realization, and that capacity release is a key variable driving the leap in value. At present, the dual surge in both national-level low-orbit computing constellations planning and demand for commercial aerospace applications provides clear and ongoing order support for capacity release. Meanwhile, ongoing technological innovations such as reusable rockets continue to reduce launch and manufacturing costs, removing obstacles to large-scale production. As the capacity utilization rates of leading enterprises gradually rise, the space computing satellite industry chain will accelerate the completion of a perfect closed-loop transformation of “technology—orders—performance.”
