BYD EV subsidies did not increase
In Japan-U.S. tariff negotiations, Japan agreed to make it easier for American automakers to obtain subsidies for pure electric vehicles (EV). Subsequently, starting in January, the Japanese government revised EV subsidies, increasing the cap by 400,000 yen.
The subsidy increase will be based on the previous amount. Toyota and U.S. Tesla, among others, increased by 400,000 yen to reach the cap, allowing them to receive subsidies of over 1 million yen. BYD’s subsidy is only 350,000 yen, so it did not increase.
