I just realized that we've probably been using the heart emojis on WhatsApp incorrectly all this time. It turns out that each color has its own meaning, and it's not just a matter of choosing the one we like best.
Look, red is obviously for intense love and passion, we already know that. But yellow, which surprised me the most, means pure friendship and happiness. So, when someone sends you a yellow heart, it's not rejecting you romantically; it's saying they adore you as a friend. I had never thought of it that way.
Then there are those who use orange to say "just friends" without being so direct, blue for deep loyalty, green if you're an environmentalist or something like that. Even black has its thing: mourning, sadness, or just dark humor.
And there are more elaborate ones like the flaming heart for burning passion, the beating heart for when you're excited, the broken one for painful breakups. The Cupid with an arrow is for flirting when something feels like a love at first sight.
Honestly, now that I know what each one means, I’ll start being more careful about which one I choose. Did you know this, or were you also just sending hearts randomly?
