Wow, it turns out Sergio Mayer is back. After all the drama with The House of the Famous, the guy says he's returning to the Chamber of Deputies and has already spoken with Luisa María Alcalde from Morena. Although, of course, she recently announced that she wouldn't rejoin the parliamentary group, so things are a bit tense.
The interesting part is that Mayer claims he requested his leave following all the proper procedures, and he was even wished good luck before entering the reality show. Now he says he's willing to cooperate with any investigation conducted by the party's Honor and Justice Commission. But he also makes it clear that this doesn't mean he's leaving politics. Antonia Mayer's father states that President Claudia Sheinbaum invited him to continue with the Fourth Transformation, so he has no plans to abandon his commitment.
Antonia Mayer and her family's situation has been caught up in this controversy, but the deputy maintains his stance. Although he admits that some people are upset, including colleagues within the party, he believes his case could serve as an example to enforce rules more strictly. We'll see how all this unfolds because it's clearly not the end of Sergio Mayer's story in politics.
