I just realized that I’ve probably been using the heart emojis on WhatsApp incorrectly haha. It turns out that each color has a completely different meaning, and here I am sending red hearts everywhere without thinking.

For example, red is for intense romantic love, that’s clear. But orange? That’s for friends, nothing weird. Yellow represents pure friendship and happiness. Blue stands for loyalty and trust, perfect for lifelong friends. And green is related to nature or well-being. Violet is more for compassion and admiration. There’s even a black one that means mourning or sadness.

What surprised me the most is that the meaning of each shade goes far beyond what I thought. The broken heart is obvious, but there are others that are more specific, like the fire heart for burning passion, or the beating one that shows accelerated emotion. The arrowed one is for that love at first sight, like Cupid, very romantic.

Now I understand why people sometimes react strangely to certain hearts. It turns out that sending the wrong emoji can completely change the message. Did you know all this about the meanings of each one, or were you also lost like me? 💛💙💜💚❤
