Eight years, I've seen the same scripts play out in this market. Today, I want to be honest: almost all brothers losing money have fallen into the same trap.
Yesterday, a newcomer asked me, "Is it only easy to lose money when the market is really bad?" I replied, "Not at all. Even in bad markets, some people make money. The problem is with yourself."
I've been through that phase too—just starting out, seeing others post their double-digit gains, feeling like a cat scratching inside, watching the K-line all day long, rushing in excitedly when it rises a little, panicking and cutting when it drops a bit. And what’s the result? The account deflates like a punctured ball, getting emptier and emptier.
Eventually, I woke up: especially for friends with limited capital, survival isn’t about "speed," but about "patience." Over 365 days a year, there might only be two or three good waves that truly let you eat well. Hold steady through one of those, and the profit will be enough for a comfortable year. Constantly going all-in and out, chasing every piece of news—that’s not trading, that’s donating.
Speaking of news, I’ve seen through it after eight years. The script is always similar: good news comes out, a bunch of people rush in, and then? Usually, they get buried quickly. Because the market is always "expectations ahead," by the time the news is widely known, it’s often when someone is waiting to unload. Things everyone knows—where’s the cheap stuff for you to pick up?
And another thing, many people stubbornly refuse to believe otherwise—during holidays, they simply refuse to reduce their positions. They think this time is different. But a big wave hits, and months of effort are wiped out in an instant. This isn’t superstition; it’s a recurring scene in the market.
My deepest realization today is: making money in this market isn’t about luck, it’s about discipline. Don’t dream of turning things around overnight. First, learn to stay calm, protect your capital, then think about how to win. I’ve also stumbled around in the dark before, but now, the light is in my own hands.
Choosing the path depends on you. Will you keep spinning in news and emotions, or will you settle down and establish your own trading rules? The power of choice is always in your hands.
