Been watching the crypto market and thinking about which coins could realistically hit that $1 psychological barrier this year. There's always this buzz around certain projects that haven't crossed that milestone yet, and honestly, it's worth digging into the numbers.
Dogecoin is the obvious one everyone talks about. It came close in 2021, hitting $0.74, and right now it's sitting around $0.09 with a market cap of about $14.18B. If DOGE actually reaches $1, we're talking a roughly 1000% move. That would put it in third place by market cap, only behind BTC and ETH. Given the meme coin momentum and the Bitcoin halving cycle historically driving rallies, this next crypto to hit $1 scenario isn't totally unrealistic for DOGE within the next bull run.
Then there's Kaspa, which has been making noise with its blockDAG tech. Currently trading around $0.03 with a $854.78M market cap, it would need to jump over 25x to reach $1. That's a massive move, but the community is solid and the tech story is compelling. The next crypto to hit $1 conversation definitely includes KAS if we get a proper bull market.
Stellar is interesting because it's been around for a decade and actually has real-world use cases for cross-border transfers. At $0.17 and a $5.70B market cap, it needs about a 6x move. It's hit $0.60+ before, so $1 isn't completely out of reach if the broader crypto market rallies hard enough.
Hedera is the enterprise play. HBAR touched $0.57 back in 2021, and it's currently at $0.09 with a $3.91B market cap. If institutional adoption and tokenization trends accelerate, this next crypto to hit $1 could be HBAR. It would need roughly a 10x move, which is steep but possible in a major bull cycle.
Honestly though, whether any of these actually hit $1 depends almost entirely on Bitcoin's momentum and overall market sentiment. These coins are all tied to the broader crypto cycle. If we see another strong bull run, maybe one or two of them make it. If the market turns bearish, forget about it. The next crypto to hit $1 game is really just betting on the macro trend.
