Trump’s budget proposal is expected to collect $464.0 billion in tariff revenue in fiscal year 2027. , U.S. President Trump released an outline of the fiscal year 2027 budget proposal, planning to request $1.5 trillion in defense spending, including about $1.1 trillion allocated to the Department of Defense and $350 billion for critical munitions procurement and expansion of the defense industrial base. The White House said it will cut $73.0 billion in non-defense spending under a “strict adherence to the total spending red line,” affecting areas such as education and environmental protection. More detailed budget documents will be released a bit later. The proposal includes expanding power to generate munition production capacity, procuring 34 vessels (including a new battleship named after Trump and new-type frigates), and funding the “Golden Dome” missile defense system, among other items.
