People’s Finance Network, April 2—Local time on April 2, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres held a press conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York regarding the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. He called on the U.S. and Israel to stop attacking Iran and on Iran to stop attacking neighboring countries. Guterres said that the Middle East crisis has entered its second month. With each additional day the war continues, human suffering deepens by one more degree. The scale of destruction is expanding, indiscriminate attacks are increasing, and attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure are rising as well—along with the danger this poses to the entire world. Guterres said the war could engulf the entire Middle East and have far-reaching effects on the world. (CCTV News)
