Recently, I've been trying out various car coating products, and there are so many options that it's really confusing. Water repellency, gloss, hydrophilicity—there are different types and performance levels. So I gathered seven popular car coating products and summarized the results of my actual tests.

First, the product that stands out is one with an excellent balance of water repellency and gloss. Zero Drop has a glossiness of over 87% and a water repellency of 113 degrees, which is highly rated. It gives a shiny finish, making the car look better, but water droplets tend to stay on the surface, so it's better suited for covered parking. Rain Drop is a spray-type that’s easy to apply. It has a water repellency of 112 degrees and a glossiness of 66%. I think it’s a recommended product for beginners because it’s easy to use. Smart Mist NEO also has a high water repellency of 113 degrees and is suitable for those concerned about water spots.

On the other hand, hydrophilic types are also interesting. Zero Water tends to produce less gloss compared to water-repellent coatings, but it still achieves an impressive glossiness of 74%. Water flows over the surface like a film, making it ideal for outdoor parking. Hydro Shot 180 is also a hydrophilic type and leaves fewer water spots. Its effects last for about six months, which is relatively long. For those seeking a good balance of shine and hydrophilicity, it’s worth considering.

In conclusion, people who can wash their cars frequently should choose water-repellent coatings. Those who park outdoors with less frequent washing might prefer hydrophilic types. The best choice depends on your parking environment and how much effort you want to put into maintenance.
